Patients & Visitors: Cost

Patients & Visitors: Costs

Appointment windowThank you for your interest in becoming a general care patient at Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry. Patients will be seen on a first come first served basis (Monday-Friday). Doors open at 7.00 A.M. each day. A limited number of patients will be seen each day.

The following information will become effective August 1, 2007 when the college resumes the screening of potential new patients.

Since we are a teaching institution we only accept a limited number of patients.  If you are accepted or referred to one of our specialty clinics a $16.00 fee will be charged.  Referral to our specialty clinics does not guarantee that you will be accepted as one of their patients.  The clinic will provide their own screening and notify you of their decision. The $16.00 fee is not refunded if you are not assigned.  If you are not accepted as a patient, no fee will be charged for the exam.

  1. Fees are not based on income and are due at the time of service.
  2. All treatment fees are approximately 30-40% less than a private dentist.
  3. Medicaid and Medicare are not accepted for general dental treatment.
  4. Insurance is not accepted as a form of payment.
  5. Patients must be able to come in for appointments an average of once a week
  6. There are no payment plan options available.
  7. Treatment will require longer and more frequent appointments than at a private dentist.
  8. Treatment is provided by dental or dental hygiene students and is supervised by licensed clinical faculty.
  9. Parking is available in the surrounding area for a minimal fee.
  10. A fee is charged for all services performed at the dental college. Accepted forms of payment are cash, check, money order, visa or master card.
  11. Patients will only be accepted if they agree to comprehensive treatment. Comprehensive treatment means that we will provide all dental treatment needed and not single procedure treatment
