The Ausmus Laursen Dental Hygiene Scholarship was established in 1978 by Mary Ellen Larsen Ausmus, a 1968 graduate of the Caruth School of Dental Hygiene, in honor of her father Leon and baby sister Donna Lucile Ausmus. Larsen’s father died unexpectedly in 1978. Her younger sister died when she was 23 months old as a result of spinal meningitis.

The Caruth School of Dental Hygiene would like to increase this fund to $25,000 so that a $1,000 scholarship can be awarded annually to a student dedicated to giving back to the community.
